FAQs Regarding Hemp Extract
Interested in learning more about products that contain hemp extracts? You’re not alone. Here are some of the most common questions people ask about the product.
What is the difference between hemp oil extract and THC?
There are more than 100 cannabinoids found in the cannabis sativa plant, with cannabidiol (hemp extract) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) being the two most studied and widely known. Hemp extract and THC can both be extracted from the same plant, but they affect the body in very different ways. While they are both cannabinoids, THC is the psychoactive element that gives people a high. Cannabidiol is non-psychoactive, but people still seek it out because of the growing research detailing its health benefits.
What are the health benefits of hemp products?
With the recent decriminalization of marijuana in many states, research has ramped up on every part of cannabis plants. There’s a lot of potential regarding cannabidiol and the other cannabinoids found in hemp for medical and therapeutic purposes. Hemp oil is under constant study for help with movement disorders, pain, cognition, anxiety, and more.
While the products we sell on our site are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, our customers keep coming back for some reason!
What do “full-spectrum” and “isolate” mean?
Cannabidiol and THC might be the most well-known cannabinoids, but they’re far from the only ones. At least 111 other cannabinoids have been identified, and they’re all under research for their abilities to support human and animal health.
If a hemp extract product is labeled as an isolate, that means it only contains the cannabinoid known as cannabidiol, the most common cannabinoid found in hemp. A product labeled full-spectrum will contain an array of other cannabinoids.
Is hemp extract legal?
Because cannabidiol has no psychoactive properties, it is federally legal thanks to the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, aka the Farm Bill. This is true for hemp-derived cannabinoid products so long as they contain no more than 0.3% THC.
What’s the best delivery method for hemp extract?
There’s no one “best” way to enjoy hemp extract. Some people prefer to use a dropper to apply it to food or to put some under their tongue. Others would rather use a pain relief balm and have it absorbed through the skin. You can even drink hemp extract isolate in the form of a shot, whether you’re looking for added energy or a way to get a good night’s rest.
Of course, many of our customers are looking for ways to ensure that their pets get the same benefits from hemp that they enjoy. Pets can ingest hemp extract via chews or oils, but paw pad salve is another popular option.
What is the endocannabinoid system?
The endocannabinoid system is a cell-signaling system in your body that interacts with cannabinoids. The CB1 and CB2 receptors, found primarily in the brain, are thought to help regulate cognitive processes and are involved with infertility, pregnancy, natal development, pain sensation, mood, and memory. While cannabinoids are one of the most direct stimulators of endocannabinoid receptors, other foods with omega fatty acids — such as walnuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, and certain fish — can also interact with it in healthy ways.
